Take control of your severe (nodular) acne.
your story could be different in 5 months.

Acne is one of the most common skin conditions, but it’s not all the same. Severe (nodular) acne is a type of acne that appears as several red, swollen, tender bumps (nodules) in the skin. This form of severe acne often fails to respond to many treatments, such as cleansers, topicals, and antibiotics. The longer you wait to treat severe (nodular) acne, the more your risk of scarring increases.

common signs of severe (nodular) acne can include nodules that:

  • Are deep within the skin
  • Persist for more than 6 months
  • Are painful or tender to touch
  • Are not responsive to treatments

Understanding your severe acne is the first step toward clearer skin. Use our acne-assessment tool and talk with your doctor to find out if you may have this type of acne.

Possible with Absorica within 5 Months*

The most commonly prescribed medications for severe (nodular) acne are isotretinoins. Not all isotretinoins are the same though. Generic isotretinoins need to be taken with food for maximum absorption. If you often skip meals while on generic isotretinoins, the absorption of isotretinoin may be affected. ABSORICA is different from other isotretinoin medications because it can deliver nearly twice as much medication as generic isotretinoins in the absence of food.

So, what could be your answer to clearer skin?
Absorica.
Taken twice daily, ABSORICA may:
  • Help you achieve visibly clearer skin within just 5 months
  • Treat severe acne that doesn't respond well to other treatments
  • Reduce the appearance of nodular lesions within just 20 weeks of treatment
  • ABSORICA can cause birth defects (deformed babies), loss of a baby before birth (miscarriage), death of the baby, and early (premature) births.
  • Females who are pregnant or who plan to become pregnant must not take ABSORICA.

Exclamation iconHow does absorica work?

ABSORICA works by reducing the amount of sebum your skin produces. Sebum is an oily, waxy substance that your glands secrete to naturally moisturize your skin. This decrease in sebum is temporary but may result in dry skin or dry, inflamed lips.

These side effects can be lessened by using moisturizer and lip balm as directed by your doctor.*Individual results may vary.

life after acne is Possible sooner

With ABSORICA, clearer skin within just 5 months is possible. This means you may be able to hold your head a little higher.

When you first start taking ABSORICA, you might notice a worsening of your complexion. This is due to skin inflammation and should only last a short while before your skin starts getting noticeably clearer. And, if you miss a dose, skip that dose. Do not take two doses at the same time.

To see what you might expect within just 5 months, take a look at these real ABSORICA patient results:

what else should i know about absorica?

Since 2012, ABSORICA has been prescribed to thousands of patients. Visibly clearer skin could also be yours within 5 months. But as with any isotretinoin, there can be serious side effects, birth defects, and mental health problems. Females who are pregnant or who plan to become pregnant must not take ABSORICA. That’s why there’s a pregnancy risk management program, called the iPLEDGE® Program, that’s designed to keep you safe throughout your treatment journey.

the ipledge® program

The iPLEDGE® Program is a computer-based risk management program that is designed to prevent pregnancy in patients taking isotretinoin. Like all isotretinoins, ABSORICA is only dispensed to patients enrolled in the iPLEDGE® Program who can understand and agree to follow and carry out all program requirements due to the serious risks. Talk to your dermatologist to learn more about the program and get support along the way.
